A guilty pleasure trip...

Beautiful sights

Next door to hotel, I can see it out my window!
A day by the pool surrounded by palm trees and beautiful flowers!

I am in California. Anaheim to be exact right outside of LA. We flew into LAX this morning and after finially getting checked into my room, I am exhausted. It is 956pm back home, but still 756 here and bright and sunny and I am in bed about to go to sleep!
I have never been to LA but the palm trees here and flowers around Anaheim are beautiful!
I DO feel guilty that I am going to spend the entire day tommorow at Disneyland with my fellow teacher and our students, but there isn't much I can do about that! I will just take home souviners! We are here b/c one of my students from Brighton and a student from Munford won first place in the state of Tennessee for business competions. National competition is being held here this year. What an accomplishment for these two girls who just graduated! We are having a great time.
Now... gotta get to bed! Big day tommorow at Disneyland~

Loss of our best friend

Our American Bulldog had a heat stroke today and died while we were in Dyersburg at Bailey's allstar game. Jason fed and watered them this morning, his mom came and checked on them and watered them again before lunch, and this afternoon when someone came to check on them he'd had a heat stroke. Bulldogs have a small airway and he just couldn't take the heat today. We had him a dog house for shade, kept plenty of water.. just didn't work. We should have tried to do more... maybe I shouldn't have kicked him out of the house at Christmas. I just couldn't stand the hair shedding anymore. He has done so good and loves it outside. We watch them and make sure they have plenty of water... maybe I would have been able to help him if I'd only been here and not at a training class in Martin, just too late for everything.
He was our baby, we loved him very much and he loved us. I know its a dog, but he was a member of our family. We got him when he was 3 mths old and he grew up with us in the house. It was so sad to see him tonight, ofcourse Brent wanted to help bury him and Brie wanted to watch, she was so sad wanting him to get up. It was so hard to watch my babies cry and their little hearts broken.
Diesel will definetly be missed.

We're still here!

No pictures to post today, but thought I'd blog anyway. We have had one busy week and I am exhausted. I don't know how I ever made it teaching swimming lessons from 9-12 and sometimes lifeguarding until 7 in the hot sun while in high school! Now that I am 30 just teaching from 8-12 then one in the afternoon at 5 has me totally exhausted!! The sun drained me all week, but yet here it is at 1048 at night and I am blogging instead of doing my lovely classroom management homework!
Brent & Bailey both made allstars! Practice has been every night this week starting at 6, so we are still busy all the time. Jason also had a birthday on Wednesday and turned 33! Atleast he is older than me, ha! I'll have to post pics of that soon!
Brie got sick with another ear infection last week so she is supposed to be trying to stay out of the water some, but you know... that is not really working! Hopefully with the antiobodics, it will heal quickly even thought I'm sure she will have another before the end of summer.
We are counting down the days until July 5 when we leave for Orange Beach! First though, I have to go to Martin next Thursday and Friday for training, then the 24-29 I am going to L.A for National FBLA competition for one of my students. I hate going without my family, but It will be nice to see Hollywood! I am very nervous about flying there without my family, I have only flown one other time when I was a freshman in high school!

Since I am sitting in a technology class for 8 hours today working on websites and Picasa I may as well use some of what I am doing. I love this picture of Brent, I think I may have this made into a poster for him for his birthday, he would think it was cool to hang in his room!
