Christmas City 2008

Friday night when I returned home from Nashville from a tech conference for school I took the kids to Christmas City to ride the train. This was our first trip of the year, but will probably not be the last. Last year we rode through atleast 2 or 3 times a week, the kids love it. Last year we never made it to ride the train, so I promised this year. It was freezing, but great fun.

Amazing how they love the breakable objects, and then wonder how in the world they got broke??

Brent took Brie's picture with her tree in her room

Hmm... like I said they keep knocking this tree over. here they are picking it up... again....

Christmas Decorations Complete!

Brie playing with the train

Snowman tree in den, looks like there are no ornaments, but I assure you they are. they have pulled it over and now they put them all back up on the side!

Well Friday afternoon when we got home from school, we worked until 930 putting up christmas trees and decorations. If it wasn't raining I'd have to go and take a picture of the decorations the kids put up outside. They are so excited about their Christmas tree with Santa hanging off of it.

The Little Angel

It only takes a short time for a little angel to turn into the little monster. I was in the den, Brie was in her brother's room watching TV with them, or so I thought. The next thing I know she goes sneaking through the kitchen and is has covered fingers, toes, and feet with red finger nail polish. So I run to my bathroom where she has painted the scale. Somehow she managed not to get a drop on the floor??
Below is the scale, her feet in the shower AFTER i washed them in the sink with finger nail polish remover, and her pouty face after getting in trouble. When asked why she did it, she said "It looks pretty pink!"

Brie's big girl bed

However, we have met one huge milestone this past weekend. Friday night while shopping I got Brie a big girl bedspread and Saturday we went and bought her a big girl bed. Brieanna has NEVER slept in her room. She would not sleep back there in her crib as a baby, and made it only a couple of nights in her toddler bed.So yes, she has slept with us for 3 years and 11 mths!
She has been so excited about her bed. The first night she made it until around 1. Sunday night Bailey slept with her, and last night she made it all by herself. We'll see how tonight goes. She told the elf this morning to tell Santa she slept in her bed all by herself! Maybe the elf works after all?

The Elf on the Shelf was delivered to our house on Thanksgiving morning in his little box with the book. It is so cute. I'm not so sure it is just making my kids act that much better though! I warn them that he is watching them, I guess it helps sometimes. They easily forget about it.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. We spent lunch at Jason's side of the family, after lunch the family played a nice game of horse. I have to say it was quite fun, though I haven't played basketball in quite some time. At 6 we went to my Aunt Debbie's and had a great meal. I was absolutely stuffed! Off to bed I went around 10, but I couldn't sleep well because I was ready to shop! We met at 330 at Cyndi's. We were at Wal-Mart by 4, I got everything I wanted, except for one thing I didn't get the color I wanted due to it being stole out of my basket! UGH!! After a great day of friends adn shopping I made it home and in my bed at 1:30, yes that is 1:30 am! almost a full 24 hours.
